La Casa Blanca is a modern, architect designed, four-bedroom, four-and-a-half bath, luxury beachfront villa. The floor plan is very open with plenty of room for family and guests to congregate for meals and conversation. The villa is situated on two large, ocean-facing lots, perfect for watching the sun rise over breaking waves. All four bedrooms have queen sized beds, remote controlled air conditioning, and ceiling fans. The two larger bedrooms have modern, Italian style bathrooms with two glass sinks, separate shower and toilet enclosures and large closets. The two other bedrooms are well designed, with plenty of storage and large bathrooms. The media room, on the second level, is equipped with a television and DVD/Blue-ray player. A sofa bed in the second-floor media room can accommodate two additional guests. The upper level also has a spacious conversation area which opens to the large upper terrace. A laundry room with a washer and dryer and a storage room are located just off the kitchen. Additionally, a small storage/guard building is located in a corner of the property.
The villa offers breath-taking views from inside or out. From January through March humpback whales put on a show right in front of the villa (see the drone video). You can swim in the infinity pool or walk to a protected white sand beach (The Cove) just 20 yards outside the villa's front gate.
The large kitchen has a four-burner gas stove, gas oven and the expansive cabinets are well stocked with cooking utensils. A large refrigerator/freezer allows you to stock up for a week. The kitchen area includes a water dispenser, blender, toaster, mixer, electric coffee pot, plates, glasses, stemware and silverware for at least eight, and a dishwasher for quick clean up.
If you choose to dine indoors, the table seats eight comfortably and an over-sized coffee table by the L-shaped sofa nearby will hold any overflow. The outdoor, shaded dining table also seats eight and there are several occasional tables and additional chairs should you have extra guests.
The villa is equipped with a Starlink satellite antenna for reliable high-speed internet service.
The house, including the roof, is constructed from steel reinforced concrete. The large glass windows and doors are constructed from heavy laminated glass. The design reduces maintenance, termite problems and weather damage. The floors throughout the villa and the extensive patio are covered with locally mined marble. A large roof-mounted solar array and solar heated water help keep your footprint green. With the DR's net-metering, if you are conservative with the AC, the solar production will essentially eliminate your electric bill.
The home inside area is 400 square meters. A large wrap-around upper deck and covered lower patio provide additional living and dining space. A covered structure shades an outdoor seating area by the pool. The double lot contains 2,160 square meters or 0.53 acres with over 43 meters or 141 feet of ocean frontage. The property has a full deslinde.
The villa is located on the south east corner of the Samana peninsula, just off highway 5, near the village of El Frances. Access to the villa is through a condominium development, The Cove. The Cove is a small, quiet condominium community consisting of five buildings and a total of twenty units. The Cove uses a professional guard company to provide 24-7 security. It is 160 meters from the remotely operated security gate on highway 5 to the villa gate. The villa pays The Cove $150 per month that covers the security, unlimited city water, and a gardener to maintain the villa grounds. Additionally, the current owners choose to pay $150 a month for a night watchman and $50 a month for a person to maintain the pool, remove the trash, and do minor maintenance. Locals are available for maid and cooking services at very reasonable rates. Again, the solar system produces enough power that the net electric bill has been essentially zero for the current owners who use the villa mainly during the winter months.
